A Chubby Little Snowman

December 16, 2014 by ajpassey 1 Comment

A Chubby Little Snowman

(Tune: “Itsy Bitsy Spider“)

A chubby little snowman
Had a carrot nose.
Along came a bunny,
And what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny
Looking for his lunch,
Ate that little snowman’s nose
Nibble, nibble, crunch!!

Actions for A Chubby Little Snowman

A chubby little snowman
Had a carrot nose. (point to nose)
Along came a bunny,
And what do you suppose?
(hold up two fingers on right hand to make bunny)
That hungry little bunny
Looking for his lunch,
Ate that little snowman’s nose (pretend to grab nose)
Nibble, nibble, crunch!!

Noisy Wind

December 16, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Noisy Wind

(Tune: “The Farmer in the Dell“)

I like the noisy wind,
I like the noisy wind.
It roars and mutters
And shakes the shutters.
I like the noisy wind.

I like the noisy wind,
I like the noisy wind.
It flaps the flag
And rustles my bag.
I like the noisy wind.

Actions for Noisy Wind

I like the noisy wind,
I like the noisy wind.
It roars and mutters
(voice loud, then softer)
And shakes the shutters.
(Jazz hands)
I like the noisy wind.

I like the noisy wind,
I like the noisy wind.
It flaps the flag
(flap your arms back and forth)
And rustles my bag.
(Rub hands together briskly)
I like the noisy wind.

If You’re Happy and You Know It

December 16, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

If You’re Happy and You Know It

If you’re happy and you know it
Clap you hands!
If you’re happy and you know it
Clap you hands!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Clap you hands!

If you’re happy and you know it
Stomp your feet!
If you’re happy and you know it
Stomp your feet!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Stomp your feet!

If you’re happy and you know it
Shout hooray!
If you’re happy and you know it
Shout hooray!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Shout hooray!

If you’re happy and you know it
Do all three! (clap, stomp, hooray!)
If you’re happy and you know it
Do all three!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Do all three!

Variations for If You’re Happy and You Know It:

You can sing face or life instead of smile

If You’re Thankful and You Know It

Jack Frost

Where did you get that little red nose?
Jack Frost kissed it I suppose.
He kissed it once. He kissed it twice.
Poor little nose it’s as cold as ice

Winter’s Coming

December 4, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Winter’s Coming

(Tune: “Frere Jacques“)

Winter’s coming, Winters Coming.
It is Dark,
It is cold.
I am bundled snug and warm.
Animals sleep safe from harm.
Sleds and snow.
Cold winds blow.

Lavender’s Blue

Lavender’s blue dilly, dilly
Lavender’s green;
When I am king, dilly, dilly
You shall be queen.

Bedtime

November 15, 2014 by ajpassey 3 Comments

Bedtime

The evening is coming, the sun sinks to rest;
The crows are all flying straight home to the nest.
“Caw!” says the crow, as he flies overhead;
“It’s time little people were going to bed!”

The flowers are closing; the daisy’s asleep
The primrose is buried in slumber so deep.
Closed for the night are the roses so red;
It’s time little people were going to bed!

The butterfly, drowsy, has folded its wing;
The bees are returning; no more the birds sing.
The labor is over, their nestlings are fed;
It’s time little people were going to bed!

Now the Day Is Over

November 15, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Now the Day Is Over

Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening,
Steal across the sky.

Now the darkness gathers,
Stars begin to peep,
Birds and beasts and flowers
Soon will be asleep.
