Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
Nursery Rhymes, Songs, and Fingerplays for Kids
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
Tune: “Rock-a-bye Baby“
Here is the beehive
{hand in a fist}
Where are the bees?
{shrug shoulders}
Hidden inside
{point to fisted hand}
Where nobody sees
{shake head and wag finger in “no”}
Watch as the bees
Come out of the hive
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
{open fist one finger at a time till all 5 are showing}
Then tickle your child. This is a great one for all ages and helps build anticipation in the littlest ones.
Winking, blinking, winking, blinking,
See that little light.
Now it’s here,
Now it’s there,
Now it’s out of sight.
Winking, blinking, winking, blinking,
Fireflies at night.
Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a rail,
Niddle, naddle went his head,
Wiggle, waggle went his tail.
Here’s a nest for a Robin Redbreast.
{cup hands to form nest}
Here’s a hive for a Busy Bee.
{form fist for beehive}
Here’s a hole for a Jack Rabbit-
{make circle with thumb and forefinger}
And a house for me.
{fingertips together to form roof line}
This is a choo-choo train
Puffing down the track.
Now it’s going forward,
Now it’s going back.
Now the bell is ringing,
Now the whistle blows,
What a lot of noise it makes
Everywhere it goes.
This is high and this is low
Only see how much I know.
This is narrow, this is wide,
Something else I know besides.
Up is where the birds fly free,
Down is where my feet should be.
This is my right hand, as you see,
This is my left hand, all agree.
Overhead I raise them high,
Clap 1, 2, 3, and then let them fly.
Follow the words for the actions to this rhyme.
The man in the moon
Came down too soon
And asked his way to Norwich
He went by the south
And burnt his mouth
With supping cold plum porridge
The man in the moon looked down from the moon
Looked down from the moon and said,
“Tis time for all children on the earth
To think about going to bed.”
“The bunnies now must go to bed,”
The furry mother bunny said.
“But I must count them first to see
If they have all come back to me.
One bunny, two bunnies, three bunnies dear,
Four bunnies, five bunnies; yes, they’re all here.
They are the prettiest things alive,
My bunnies, one, two, three, four, five.”
