Little Bo-Peep

May 29, 2015 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Little Bo-Peep

Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep
And doesn’t know where to find them;
Leave them alone,
And they’ll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.

Little Bo-Peep fell fast asleep,
And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke she found it a joke,
for still they all were fleeting.

Then up she took her little crook,
Determined for to find them.
She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,
For they’d left all their tails behind ’em!

It happened one day, as Bo-Peep did stray
Unto a meadow hard by—
There she espied their tails, side by side,
All hung on a tree to dry.

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,
And over the hillocks she raced;
And tried what she could, as a shepherdess should,
That each tail should be properly placed.

Good Night Dinosaur

Good Night Dinosaur!

One little dinosaur
Was sent to bed.
He stomped his feet,
And he shook his head!

Two big dinosaurs
Said, “No, no, no!”
I want to stay up,
I will not go!”

Three loving dinosaurs
Hugged each other tight.
They gave a big kiss
And said “Good Night!”

There Once Was a Turtle

May 7, 2015 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

There Once Was a Turtle

There once was a turtle who lived in a box.
He swam in a puddle and he climbed on some rocks.
He snapped at a mosquito, he snapped at a flea,
He snapped at a minnow and he snapped at me!
He caught the mosquito, he caught the flea,
He caught the minnow
BUT HE DIDN’T CATCH ME!

A Box of Gadgets

May 7, 2015 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

A Box of Gadgets

(Tune: “Yankee Doodle“)

Get the package. Look inside.
And then we’ll spread the news
That we’ve got lots of gadgets here,
Equipment we can use.

Each convenient gadget is
Something we’ve all seen.
Each convenient gadget is
Really a machine.

Yankee Doodle

May 7, 2015 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Yankee Doodle

Yankee Doodle went to town
A-riding on a pony
He stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroni

Chorus:
Yankee Doodle, keep it up
Yankee Doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
and with the girls be handy!

Father and I went down to camp
Along with Captain Gooding
And there we saw the men and boys
As thick as hasty pudding.

Chorus

And there was Captain Washington
Upon his strapping stallion.
A-giving orders to his men;
I guess there was a million.

Chorus

Variations Sung to Yankee Doodle:

  • A Box of Gadgets
  • Applesauce

2 Little Friends

Two Little Friends

One little friend came to school one day.
He went to the blocks and began to play.
A second little friend said, “Can I play, too?”
The first little friend said, “I’ll share with you!”
So they worked together and built a big town.
And when they were finished, they knocked it down!

Shape Song

(Tune: “Farmer in the Dell“)

A circle’s like a ball,
A circle’s like a ball,
Round and round
It never stops.

A square is like a box,
A square is like a box,
It has four sides,
They are the same.
A square is like a box!

A triangle has 3 sides,
A triangle has 3 sides,
Up the mountain,
Down, and back.
A triangle has 3 sides!

A rectangle has 4 sides,
A rectangle has 4 sides,
Two are long, and
Two are short.
A rectangle has 4 sides!
