The Farmer in the Dell

The farmer in the dell
The farmer in the dell
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The farmer in the dell

The farmer takes a wife
The farmer takes a wife
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The farmer takes a wife

The wife takes a child
The wife takes a child
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The wife takes a child

The child takes a nurse
The child takes a nurse
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The child takes a nurse

The nurse takes a cow
The nurse takes a cow
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The nurse takes a cow

The cow takes a dog
The cow takes a dog
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The cow takes a dog

The dog takes a cat
The dog takes a cat
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The dog takes a cat

The cat takes a mouse
The cat takes a mouse
Heigh-ho the derry-o
The cat takes a mouse

The mouse takes the cheese
The mouse takes the cheese

Whistling Wind

December 16, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Whistling Wind

(Tune: “If You’re Happy and You Know It“)

If you hear the whistling wind,
Cup your ears.
If you hear the whistling wind,
Cup your ears.
If you hear it in the trees
Making music with the leaves,
If you hear the whistling wind,
Cup your ears.

If you feel the Blustery wind,
Whirl around
If you feel the blustery wind,
Whirl around.
If you feel it lift your hair
Like a kite up in the air,
If you feel the blustery wind,
Whirl around.

If You’re Happy and You Know It

If you’re happy and you know it
Clap you hands!
If you’re happy and you know it
Clap you hands!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Clap you hands!

If you’re happy and you know it
Stomp your feet!
If you’re happy and you know it
Stomp your feet!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Stomp your feet!

If you’re happy and you know it
Shout hooray!
If you’re happy and you know it
Shout hooray!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Shout hooray!

If you’re happy and you know it
Do all three! (clap, stomp, hooray!)
If you’re happy and you know it
Do all three!
If you’re happy and you know it
Then your smile will surely show it
If you’re happy and you know it
Do all three!

Snowman

(Tune: “I’m a Little Teapot“)

I’m a little snowman
Short and fat
Here is my broom
and here is my hat
When the sun comes out
I tremble with fear
‘Cause soon I’ll melt and disappear!

10 Little Indians

February 23, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Ten Little Indians

One little, two little, three little Indians
Four little, five little, six little Indians
Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians
Ten little Indian boys.

Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians
Seven little, six little, five little Indians
Four little, three little, two little Indians
One little Indian boy.

Variations:

Kids love this song when you mix in words about them or their surroundings. Try trading out the words “little Indian” for things like “little baby” or “little books”. Then tailor the end to match by singing “Ten little baby boys (or girls)” or finishing with “Ten little books to read”.

Play around with it. Children love it.

Variations using Ten Little Indians

Pop Goes the Weasel

February 23, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Pop! Goes the Weasel

All around the mulberry bush (or cobbler’s bench)
The monkey chased the weasel;
The monkey thought ’twas all in good fun,
Pop! goes the weasel.

A penny for a spool of thread,
A penny for a needle—
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop! goes the weasel.

Jimmy’s got the whooping cough
And Timmy’s got the measles
That’s the way the story goes
Pop! goes the weasel.

I Have A Little Robot

I Have A Little Robot

I have a little robot
His name is Scott the Bot
He likes to eat cookies
And bakes them up a lot.

He baked them up one morning
And took them to the park
He gave them to his friends
And stayed till it was dark!

Welcome Song: We’re Glad You’re Here Today

March 13, 2013 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

We’re Glad You’re Here Today

{Child’s Name} will you stand up
And let us see your smile?
We’re glad you’re here today
Won’t you stay awhile!

This is great for a small group where you know everyone’s name. Everyone sits in a circle so each person’s face is visible to the rest of the group. It works best for children who are not shy or scared to be recognized in a group. With children who are familiar with each other, they often stand up and run around the outside of the circle to show their smile.
