Bedtime

November 15, 2014 by ajpassey 3 Comments

Bedtime

The evening is coming, the sun sinks to rest;
The crows are all flying straight home to the nest.
“Caw!” says the crow, as he flies overhead;
“It’s time little people were going to bed!”

The flowers are closing; the daisy’s asleep
The primrose is buried in slumber so deep.
Closed for the night are the roses so red;
It’s time little people were going to bed!

The butterfly, drowsy, has folded its wing;
The bees are returning; no more the birds sing.
The labor is over, their nestlings are fed;
It’s time little people were going to bed!

Now the Day Is Over

Now the Day Is Over

Now the day is over,
Night is drawing nigh,
Shadows of the evening,
Steal across the sky.

Now the darkness gathers,
Stars begin to peep,
Birds and beasts and flowers
Soon will be asleep.

Golden Slumbers

Golden slumbers kiss your eyes,
Smiles await you when you rise;
Sleep, pretty baby, do not cry,
And I will sing a lullaby.

10 Little Indians

February 23, 2014 by ajpassey Leave a Comment

Ten Little Indians

One little, two little, three little Indians
Four little, five little, six little Indians
Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians
Ten little Indian boys.

Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians
Seven little, six little, five little Indians
Four little, three little, two little Indians
One little Indian boy.

Variations:

Kids love this song when you mix in words about them or their surroundings. Try trading out the words “little Indian” for things like “little baby” or “little books”. Then tailor the end to match by singing “Ten little baby boys (or girls)” or finishing with “Ten little books to read”.

Play around with it. Children love it.

Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross

Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross

Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross,
To see a fine lady upon a white horse;
Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,
And she shall have music wherever she goes.
