If You’re Thankful and You Know It
(Tune: “If You’re Happy and You Know It“)
If you’re thankful and you know it,
clap your hands.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
clap your hands.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
then your face will surely show it.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
clap your hands.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
stomp your feet.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
stomp your feet.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
then your face will surely show it.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
stomp your feet.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
shout “I am!”
If you’re thankful and you know it,
shout “I am!”
If you’re thankful and you know it,
then your face will surely show it.
If you’re thankful and you know it,
shout “I am!”
I always ALWAYS like to sing any form of this song with the phrase “Then your life will surely show it”. I know that I don’t always have a smile on my face (wish I did) and sung with the phrase “Then your face will surely show it” makes me sort of depressed. I feel like I am not good enough. But my life surely shows it, because I am thankful….
Thank you, Pam, for this variation. Yes, we might not always have a smile, but we are still thankful. I also think that when we are thankful, and living a life that shows it, there is a light in our eyes, and something about our countenance that IS noticeable, even if we aren’t always smiling.
