My Friends Are Here Today

My Friends Are Here Today

(Tune: “The Farmer in the Dell”)

My friends are here today
My friends are here today
Let’s give a cheer
Let’s give a cheer
My friends are here today!

This song can also be adapted to introduce each child to the group. Replace “My friends” with a child’s name. Wave at the child during the first two lines. Fist pump in the air for the next two lines. Finish by waving again or clapping the rhythm. Be sure to cheer loudly at the end with lots of claps.

*Child’s name is here today
*Child’s name is here today
Let’s give a cheer
Let’s give a cheer
“Cause *Child’s name is here today!

My Turtle

My Turtle

This is my turtle.
He lives in a shell.
He likes his home very well.
He pokes his head out when he wants to eat.
And pulls it back in when he wants to sleep.

Meet a Friend

(Tune: “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush”)

Today I’m going to meet a friend,
Meet a friend, meet a friend,
Today I’m going to meet a friend and
We’ll be friends together.
Today I’m going to play with my friend,
Play with my friend, play with my friend,
Today I’m going to play with my friend, and
We’ll be friends forever!

Many Kinds of Mittens

Many Kinds of Mittens

Stripes or dots or sparkling white,
Mittens in winter fit just right.
Wool and cotton, maybe leather
Keep us warm in cold weather.
In rainbow colors and darkest black,
They fit in a pocket or in your pack.
Thumbs alone, fingers together
We love mittens in cold, cold weather.

Mittens For Me

Mittens For Me

I wiggle my left hand,
I wiggle my right,
Inside of my mittens
so warm and tight.

I wiggle my pinkie,
I wiggle my thumb,
So when I make snowballs
My hands won’t go numb.

Mittens

Mittens

Red mittens, Blue mittens,
Mittens for cold weather.
Wool mittens, knit mittens,
Fingers all together.
Green mittens, orange mittens,
Yellow mittens, too.
Furry mittens, soft mittens,
Which ones are for you?

My Mother Said

My Mother Said

My mother said that I never should
Play with the gypsies in the wood.
The wood was dark, the grass was green;
By came Sally with a tambourine.
I went to sea—no ship to get across;
I paid ten shillings for a blind white horse.
I upped on his back and was off in a crack,
Sally, tell my mother I shall never come back.

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle-shells
And pretty maids all in a row.

Mary Had a Little Lamb

by admin Leave a Comment

Mary Had a Little Lamb

Mary had a little lamb
Its fleece was white as snow
And everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go.

It followed her to school one day
That was against the rule.
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school.

And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near;
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear.

“Why does the lamb love Mary so?”
The eager children cry.
“Why Mary loves the lamb, you know!”
The teacher did reply.
